I loved “Inglorious Basterds,” but I’m glad it didn’t win

A short entry today. I’ve got a story to finish before 6:30, when I take my son to basketball practice.
I absolutely loved Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds,” which my stepdaughters gave me for Christmas. But I’m kinda glad it didn’t win “Best Picture” last night. That would have made it too mainstream.
I prefer to be on the edge or, better yet, off it. It’s my Best Picture, and that’s good enough for me. I don’t need anyone else’s validation.
Story of my life. The things I love, I love.
Shalom.
